Exports are a measure of trust in the company's manufacturing
capabilities. A good export track requires stringent quality
control as well as strict adherence to patent laws and a respect
for confidentiality of the client for process. High quality
norms have helped get our products and capabilities certification
from regulatory authorities such as USFDA and TGA, European
certificate of suitability, MCA UK, Irish Board of Medicines,
TGA and USFDA.
Exports are a thrust area now for NPIL and
are expected to touch Rs 35 crores in 2002-2003 while the
projected exports for 2003-2004 should reach Rs 100 crores.
The growth plank for this has been the takeover of ICI which
had a significant bulk drug export business.
GBDFC too has existing relationships
with Pharma majors in the regulated markets in the Generics
and the New Drug Delivery (NDD) segment. The company currently
exports to the European and Canadian markets and also hopes
to export to the US in the near future.
