Process R&D - APIs

R&D for the APIs segment of the custom manufacturing group is carried out by the Process Development Group (PDG) which focuses on developing commercially viable, eco friendly processes for APIs and intermediates for the global markets. The group also undertakes various Custom Chemical Synthesis (CCS) projects.

PDG has state of art process development laboratories at Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. A cGMP compliant pilot plant has recently been developed at Chennai. PDG derives its strength from over 70 scientist with Masters/Doctorate degrees in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry and is supported by latest sophisticated equipments including –

• GC-HS
• X-Ray Diffractor

The laboratories are also equipped with the facilities of online access to STN and Scifinder databases. The group has so far developed around 50 processes and commercialized 20. The group also provides contract research activities such as Impurity Profiling, Analytical Method Development, Technology transfer, pilot plant scale up.
