Comparison between the Levaquin and ciprofloxacin for the treatment of UTI

There are many treatment modules that are being observed in the large number of patients who are having the UTI. Among these include the use of ciprofloxacin and Levaquin, both of which are being used for the treatment of UTI. On the other hand, there is the whole new lot of comparison that is being done between these two medicines. According to the many observations that are done on the patients with UTI, the use of both ciprofloxacin and Levaquin are useful in the treatment of UTI. However, the test has shown that Levaquin can be used for 5 days, while the ciprofloxacin can be used for 10 days. The effects are the same. Therefore, in many settings, the use of any of these two drugs has been widely accepted.

However, in some cases, the use ciprofloxacin and Levaquin are different according to the preference that has been given due to the body’s rate of metabolism. According to the data presented by the different organizations around the world are mostly related to the fact that many antibiotics that are being used for the treatment and control of infections are mostly metabolized in the kidneys. Therefore, using each of these according to the rates for which these can be used are the best ways for making the good impact on the body.

As for the concerns with the research that has been done on the patients who are having the UTI, the use of ciprofloxacin and Levaquin also depends on the window of safety. In some ways, the use of Levaquin can be dangerous if the patient has the impaired renal functions. While on the other hand, the allergic reactions for any of these drugs can also be fatal for many other patients. Therefore, using these different drugs can also be the major thing which can be considered for the use of many other things.

There are other side effects which have also been reported in the patients who are being treated with ciprofloxacin and Levaquin. According the statistics that are shown, the rates of the presence of the side effects are 1.5% in the patients who are using the Levaquin as the treatment option for UTI, while the patients who are using the Ciprofloxacin have been reported to have the adverse side effects being 1.2%. Hence, the complete history shall be taken before administering any of these drugs in the patients with UTI.
